What you might experience at Wiser Hall if you have Breast Cancer:

If you have breast cancer there are many different variables that we would need to address during the Complete Health Assessment (included) in order to determine the best treatment course.

These variables can include the following:

  • Are your hormone receptors positive or negative
  • The tumor size and stage
  • Your age
  • The amount of toxicity present
  • If you received chemotherapy or radiation therapy previously, synthetic hormone exposure, etc.

A typical scenario for treatment of breast cancer would be that, after an initial assessment, if there is still a tumor present we would perform a biopsy for study. This study will consist of: Histopathological classification, tumor culture or what we define as "histoculture drug response assay." This assay determines the sensitivity of the cancer cell to different kinds of treatments. Of the medications that the tumor is sensitive to, we will pick the one that is most effective, has the least side effects and is less toxic on normal cells.

This is state-of-the-art medicine that helps determine the type of treatment that will work best on your type of cancer. We don't just treat you with the typical protocol, but tailor treatment to your individual needs. Once the test is done, we know the treatment that will work best. This is one way of assuring that whatever treatment is selected, that we will have the highest possibility of achieving an adequate result with minimal side effects.

Another portion of the biopsy specimen will be sent to an immunology laboratory. This is an immune treatment where you will receive oral vials with specific antibodies, cytokines and other various immunological factors that destroy and identify cancer cells. In other words we will give you antibodies that will help fight the disease.

During the treatment course we will also administer other naturally occurring immune boosters such as mistletoe extract (Eurixor) and Iscadore which have shown benefit in the treatment of breast cancer. Whole body hyperthermia which consist of raising the body temperature to kill cancer cells and boost immune response by placing the patient in a bed chamber with infrared heat for about 1 ? hours two times a week may also be recommended.

In addition to some of the treatments mentioned the patient can undergo other approaches like IV nutrition for detoxification, enzyme therapy, etc. Again the treatments will be determined by the complete health assessment, and most importantly it will be discussed by the physician and patient.
