Two or more weeks. If you have chronic health issues, such as a Neurodegenerative Disease or Autoimmune Disease, the Comprehensive Medical Program can be tailored to meet your specific needs. You'll receive extensive diagnostic testing and evaluation, beginning with the Complete Health Assessment Program (see description). An analysis of the results of these tests will determine your individual treatment plan. Our approach involves examining these illnesses at the cellular level. Every patient who comes to Wiser Hall for the Comprehensive Medical Program begins their visit with our three day diagnostic Complete Health Assessment. During this time, your doctor will take a thorough history and physical examination, and administer conventional and unconventional diagnostics (many of which are not available in a typical hospital setting). After the assessment, a treatment protocol is designed according to the results of the CHA. The foundation for treatment is based on proper nutrition and detoxification. The use of orthomolecular therapy is very important in this group of illnesses. The term orthomolecular medicine was coined by Linus Pauling, Ph.D. This describes the medical practice of using high quality nutrition and optimal doses of nutritional supplements to prevent disease. Physicians prescribe the appropriate foods, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, essential fatty acids, and amino acids to promote healing. Because they are the highest quality products available, the Wiser Hall medical team uses the best nutritionals to support guests in achieving and maintaining optimal health. For instance, Parkinson's disease patients respond very well to intravenous glutathione which aids in antioxidant function in the brain and simultaneously helps the liver eliminate toxins that it wasn't able to tackle before. Glutathione, or GSH, is a naturally occurring protein that protects every cell, tissue, and organ from toxic free radicals and disease. It is a tripeptide of three amino acids – glycine, glutamate, and cysteine. Glutathione is a substance, the levels of which in our cells are predictive of how long we will live. There are very few other factors which are as predictive of our life expectancy as is our level of cellular glutathione. Glutathione participates directly in the neutralization of free radicals. Intravenously administered, glutathione plays a role in the detoxification of many foreign compounds, both organic and inorganic Alpha lipoic acid, another treatment, works in a similar manner, aiding the body in eliminating toxins that most likely have caused disease to begin with. The body needs ALA to produce energy. It plays a crucial role in the mitochondria, the energy-producing structures in cells. The body actually makes enough ALA for these basic metabolic functions. This compound acts as an antioxidant, however, only when there is an excess of it and it is in the "free" state in the cells. But there is little free ALA circulating in your body, unless you consume supplements or get it injected. Foods contain only tiny amounts of it. What makes ALA special as an antioxidant is its versatility—it helps deactivate an unusually wide array of cell-damaging free radicals in many bodily systems. Many recent studies have shown that autistic children respond very well to the administration of the right combination of these nutrients together with the identification and treatment of food allergies, controlling Candida overgrowth and limiting gluten intake. Hyperbaric oxygen is frequently used to treat this disorder because it stimulates tissue repair, proper oxygenation, formation of new blood vessels and circulation. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is a form of treatment that allows a person to breath 100% oxygen while they are in a pressurized chamber. Of course, Wiser Hall is equipped with full European-spa facilities to offer patients other effective alternatives for cleansing and renewing. There are of course many other treatments used at Wiser Hall that have shown through scientific studies to be effective at controlling the illness progression and also improving quality of life. These are just some examples of what a treatment program might look like, depending on your specific condition and on the results of the health assessment. So far the results have been remarkable. Autoimmune Disease
"Autoimmune" disorders are so-called because the immune system is reacting against the body's own cells. Depending on which organ is under attack will determine which disease is present or will develop (i.e. Thyroid cells will develop thyroiditis or Graves disease; compromised pancreatic cells can create diabetes; skin cells can lead to psoriasis; an auto-immune response to myelin in neuronal axons leads to multiple sclerosis, and so on). The conventional medical approach is focused on symptom care. For example if you have rheumatoid arthritis, in a conventional setting you may be given non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (prednisone) and sometimes chemotherapeutic drugs to suppress your immune system from attacking your body. Our approach is to identify the different underlying factors that contribute to the development of the illness and address these, in addition to seeking natural non-toxic treatment as an alternative to the drugs. Research now shows that many of these illnesses are developed and influenced by different genetic, lifestyle, environmental (toxicity from environment) and psychological factors. Knowing this we offer a holistic approach to illness and also focus on the detoxification process during your course of treatment at Wiser Hall. This is the core of our philosophy. Your course of treatment will be based on the results of the Complete Health Assessment (CHA) which you will undergo as part of the Comprehensive Medical Program. All of the treatments we prescribe work together synergistically. One very important aspect of our treatment for autoimmune disease is a vaccine which we produce from the patient's own blood. We isolate the auto antibodies (antibodies that are abnormal and attack the patient's own cells) and put them through different physical and temperature changes to turn them into proteins (antigens) and re-inject them into the patient over a period of weeks to months. This vaccine makes these auto antibodies decrease or disappear from the blood after a few months. All of our treatment protocols are highly individualized and depend on your specific health assessment. In other words two people can have the same illness and yet they may receive different treatment. Often we will draw on other resources to aid in the recovery of these illnesses. For example a patient with multiple sclerosis not only needs to have the myelin deterioration arrested, but needs to repair the nervous system tissues that have already been damaged. In these cases we may relay on hyperbaric oxygen in order to stimulate repair. So far the results have been outstanding. Are you dissatisfied with the quality of medical care you currently receive?
